Celebrated cult author David Keenan has written a brand new novel, and he's coming right here to our town to launch it! The author of works including This Is Memorial Device, Xtabeth and Volcanic Tongue is back with his most autobiographical work yet.
Boyhood opens in 1979 with the abduction of a young boy outside a Glasgow football ground. Nine years later, the boy's brother, Aaron Murray, is on the cusp of that moment when adolescence becomes adulthood. His own journey of grief and recovery has been guided by an angel, 'The Precious Gift' - perhaps imagined, perhaps real - who has blessed Aaron with redemptive, messianic powers.
Like all Keenan's works, this is a mind-blowing literary trip which will have you gripped from the first page, and leave you reeling at the last.
And if you've never had the pleasure of hearing Mr Keenan talk about his work, his life and everything else in between, don't miss this chance - it'll be an evening you'll never forget!
Tickets £8, includes refreshments and a discount on book sales on the evening.
