Sara Sheridan is a writer and activist who is interested particularly in female history. Her novel The Fair Botanists was chosen as Waterstones’ Scottish Book of the Year in 2022. The Secrets of Blythswood Square is her new novel.

1846. Glasgow is a city on the cusp of great social change, but behind the curtains, neighbours are watching, and rumours of improper behaviour spread like wildfire on the respectable Blythswood Square. Early photography, the birth of the female gaze and dissenting politics in Victorian Scotland.
