Here at last are full details for the 2017 Further From Festival!
We've expanded our programme this year to three days and we're pretty sure there's something for everyone!
Friday 10th February
6.00pm Stuart Cosgrove. The veteran broadcaster talks all things music, specifically his love of northern soul.
7.15pm Poetry and Words and Such Like. A chance to hear Ash Dickinson, Claire Askew and local boy Ian Macartney, this is one not to be missed!
8.30pm Andrew Greig and Rachel Newton. This is a beautiful pairing of music and words, last performed two years ago.
Saturday 11th February
10.00am Our Natural Environment. Join writer Jim Crumley, photographer Polly Pullar and artist Leo du Feu as they discuss their very different methods of recording and sharing their impressions of the natural word around us.
11.30am First Things First. Debut authors Shelley Day and Sandra Ireland have been making a big splash with their respective first books. They'll be talking about the writing process as well as the inspiration for their very different stories.
12.30pm Crime Writers Inc. Lin Anderson leads a crime writer's panel including
2.00pm Kate Leiper demonstration. Kate Leiper's illustrations are simply stunning. Books such as The Illisutrated Treasury of Scottish Folk and Fairy Tales and the more recent collaboration with James Robertson, The Book of the Howlat, are beautifully conceived. Kate will be showing her work and talking about the process of illustrating books.
Sunday 12th February
2.00pm The Return of the Gruffalo's Picnic! The Gruffalo is coming back to Linlithgow. Join him for party games, stories, face painting and craft activities! And of course there will be cake! Lots of cake!
